Members of Alberto Gonzales' Harvard Law School Class Love Him

But they love the law and their country more.

So much so that they wrote him a letter. And paid the Washington Post to publish it to make sure he could recall having received it:

Letter doesn't go far enough. Gonzo's classmates don't love their country or the law enough to mention the R-word.

On a side note..... That is a remarkably poorly written, trite and cliche filled letter. It comes off as pure political pandering and pontification.

I would have expected a lot more from Harvard Law School Graduates.

The Class of 1982 (from Gonzales on up) must have been an unusually weak class. Makes me worry a little bit about the Harvard Law School.

I'm just going to go with "glad they did this at all" since this is not a demographic group prone to taking courageous stands in any event. Remarkable for that reason if no other.

(and yes, I realize it doesn't require a terrible lot of courage to speak out at this late date, still, better late than never)

Wow, what a war between elites! It does seem a bit partisan, but the one local lawyer I googled is steeped in defending U.S. accountants, not the most liberal bunch of business people, in my experience. I take this on face value. Real patriots, at that.

Who knows, maybe shaming him will work...

Ah, who am I kidding?

That bastard is an unredeemable asslicker who will never repent of his ways.

If I hear one more pol call him a nice guy, I'm going to puke.

What do you call a bus full of lawyers going over a cliff with three empty seats?
A total waste of space!

Wait a minute... I'm married to a lawyer, never mind.

Didn't seem like such a bad letter to me, but maybe my education is lacking in that department.

Beach, I loved your comment, and hope your wife has forgiven you.

Ugh, why blame lawyers? It's a cop-out. I blame mothers, fathers, and mentors (or the lack thereof) that pave the way for people who behave like this! There are too many of these abusive people in govt and business.

More specifically, blaming lawyers provides abusive lawyers a cop-out for their abusive behavior (I didn't mean that anyone here is copping out!).
